I’ve tried many things over the last 15 years to lose weight. I’ve lost and regained over and over again. I’ve finally figured out what works for me and what doesn’t. I believe I have a solid plan to lose 200 lbs.
One thing I can say is that I had to mentally ready to lose the weight. I’ve said I wanted to lose it before but I could tell I just wasn’t ready yet. I can’t really explain it but I just knew it wasn’t the time. I would say I wanted to lose 200 lbs because I did but I knew I wasn’t ready to commit to making the changes necessary. Even though I wanted to lose before I started having any serious health complications. I wanted to lose weight while my kids were still pretty young. But it just wasn’t the time yet. Something finally clicked though and this is the time. This time is different.
My Plan to Lose 200 lbs
1. Focus on Calories In Calories Out (CICO)
I’m going to track my calories to ensure I have a calorie deficit. So I want to make sure I have less calories going in then calories going out. I’m not going to restrict any foods. If I try to restrict a food, I know that’s a way for me to trigger a craving for that food. Which could lead to a binge.
I’m tracking my calories in the My Fitness Pal app. I’m doing this temporarily while I learn portion control. And also I’m learning how my body reacts to different foods.
2. Move My Body More
So I’m not going to have any specific exercise regimen to begin with. I’m just planning to move my body more. I’m pretty sedentary most of the day. I work from home and I rarely exercise. So my focus will be on just moving my body more to start with.
I’ll go on walks with the kids and explore new parks. Park farther away. Play Just Dance or do a few dance fitness videos on YouTube.
3. Beat My Best
My focus will be on making sure I’m always working on becoming a better version of myself. I’ll be making changes each month to improve the way I’m eating or work on my fitness goals. I won’t be comparing my fitness journey to anyone else’s. I know that can be hard. But their weight loss journey is theirs and mine is mine. I have to stay in my lane and focus on what’s in front of me.
So that is my plan to lose 200 lbs. I know it won’t be any easy journey. It will be a long one. But I’m determined to lose weight in a healthy, sustainable way. So I know this is what’s best for me.
