This is bigger than weight loss.
For too long, the scale has been given authority it was never supposed to have.
It tells you whether you have been “good.”
Whether you have been disciplined.
Whether you are making progress.
Sometimes, it even determines how you feel about yourself when you look in the mirror.
But your weight cannot tell you who you are.
Your size cannot determine your worth.
And reaching a goal weight cannot give you the freedom, peace, or identity that can only be found in Jesus.
Your identity was settled in Christ before you ever lost a pound.
And it will still be settled in Christ if your body changes.
That does not mean your health does not matter.
It means you stop asking weight loss to give you something it was never designed to give.
We do not pursue a smaller body so we can finally become whole.
We allow Christ to make us whole and we learn to care for our bodies from that place.
What Women Are Saying
The Message Malaika Carries
Identity in Christ. Not in your weight.
You do not become more valuable when the number goes down. You do not become less valuable when the number goes up. Your worth is not being negotiated on the scale. It is already secure in Christ.
Your body is not your enemy nor your savior.
Your body is something God has entrusted to you. It should be cared for, nourished, and stewarded. But it was never meant to become the source of your identity, confidence, righteousness, or peace.
Lasting change must address the whole woman.
You are not just a body that needs a better plan. You are spirit, soul, and body. Your beliefs, emotions, wounds, habits, spiritual battles, and physical choices can all affect the way you walk through your health journey.
This is discipleship, not self-improvement.
The goal is not simply to create a better version of yourself. The goal is to surrender every area of your life to Jesus and allow Holy Spirit to transform you. Your eating. Your thoughts. Your habits. Your relationship with your body. And the identity you have attached to your weight.
Freedom begins when Jesus becomes the center.
A place to live this out.
Whole + Holy Girls Club is a discipleship community for Christian women who are ready to stop making weight the center of their lives and start making Jesus the center of their journey.
Inside the community, women receive biblical teaching, practical support, Spirit-led encouragement, and a safe place to work through the deeper issues affecting their health.
Stories of Freedom and Transformation
Meet Malaika
Malaika Burley is a minister, author, speaker, and founder of Whole + Holy™.
Once nearly 400 pounds, Malaika knows what it is like to live beneath the weight of shame, emotional eating, discouragement, and repeated attempts to change.
But her story is not simply a weight-loss story.
It is a story of Jesus meeting her in the middle of the struggle and revealing that the transformation she needed went far deeper than her body.
Today, Malaika teaches Christian women how to remove their identity from their weight, confront the spiritual and soul-level roots beneath their patterns, and invite God into every part of their health journey.
She teaches from both biblical truth and lived experience, not as someone standing at a finish line, but as a woman continuing to walk with the Lord one surrendered step at a time.
Her message is simple:
You do not have to wait until you lose the weight to walk in freedom.
Your identity is already found in Christ.
And from that place of wholeness, you can learn to follow Him – spirit, soul, and body.
Helping Christian women take their identity out of their weight and root it in Christ.
